On Sunday, January, 7 2007 at 1:15 AM, the suspect shot and killed an off duty Paterson police officer during a robbery. The incident occured in Broadway Chicken, located at 462 Broadway. The subject fled West on Broadway towards East 18th St and made a right turn.
Paterson police released a composite sketch Tuesday of the man believed to have fatally shot Officer Tyron Franklin during a botched robbery inside a storefront restaurant.
The suspect was described as a black male, age 24 to 29, 5-foot-10 and between 140 and 160 pounds with pockmarked skin, wearing a black knit cap, hooded gray sweatshirt, jeans and beige boots.
Police described the gunman's getaway vehicle as a bluish-green Dodge or Chrysler van of 1998-2002 vintage, seen near the site of the shooting.
There is a $60,000 reward for information leading to the killer's arrest and conviction.
