Michael Walker Police Director

Michael C. Walker is a retired Police Captain with the Paterson (NJ) Police Department. He served as the Director of the Paterson Police Academy and as the Commanding Officer of the Department's forty officer Neighborhood Stabilization Unit. He has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration, both from the William Paterson University of New Jersey. He has earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree in Corporate Finance from Pace University in New York City and a Master in Public Administration (MPA) Degree from the City University of New York, John Jay College of Criminal Justice in the field of Criminal Justice Policy and Administration. Walker is a graduate of the 170th Session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.

Walker is an Assistant Professor at the Passaic County Community College in Paterson and instructs courses in Public Management at both the graduate and undergraduate levels at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

In September, 2004 Michael Walker was appointed as the Director of the Paterson Police Department, overseeing a force of 460 sworn and a budget of approx. $40 million.
